The Gasket That Started It All The Improvement on the Original Design Chicago Wilcox - Growing Strong Since 1906 With the development and patenting of the Wilcox Self Sealing gasket (now known as a French Style) in 1906, the E.A. Wilcox Manufacturing Company was founded in Chicago. The superiority of this type of gasket in applications throughout industry was reflected in the company's steady growth. In 1925, the E.A. Wilcox Mfg. Co. was consolidated with the Chicago Gasket Company to form Chicago Wilcox Mfg. Co and a 20,000 square foot plant was built to accommodate expanded service to the power, petroleum and industrial field. In 1967, Chicago Wilcox was continuing to grow steadily! The company purchased a 5 acre tract in South Holland, Illinois, and erected the present 40,000 square foot plant which started operations in September of that year. In 1999, Chicago Wilcox merged with DH Die Cutting. The expanded technology, knowledge, and capabilities are expected to double the size of Chicago Wilcoxs die cutting department. The merger also enables us to offer a broader range of products complimented by the quality and service you rely on. For more information click here Die Cutting. Today, Chicago Wilcox produces gaskets, washers, shims, stampings, and laser cut items for industry. The company's long experience is available in working out your individual requirements. When it comes to service, one of our field sales staff is available for gasket surveys at your facility. For emergencies, we offer 24 hour, 365 days a year service just call 708-339-5000.
